Workspace Ergonomics
When it comes to workspace ergonomics, there are three main things to think about:
1) Monitor height: Elevate your monitor so that you are looking at the top of it to avoid prolonged periods of looking down or up.
2) Elbows flexed at 90 degrees for comfort.
3) Lumbar support: place a lumbar support (or small towel roll) at the small of your back to help restore the natural alignment of your spine.
Laptop users Elevate your laptop with an adjustable laptop stand or a stack of books. Wireless keyboard and mouse so that you are not reaching for the keyboard. These small changes can make a huge difference in your workspace set up.
Disclaimer: If you currently have lower back pain, it is strongly recommended that you see a medical professional such as a physical therapist to thoroughly evaluate and treat you.
